From an era when baseball’s Mid-Summer Classic was anticipated by both the players and fans, this 1979 ballot box was displayed at a Major League Stadium to facilitate fan voting. Standing 48-3/8”-tall, this sturdy cardboard structure showcases the colorful MLB silhouette logo with none-too-subtle “VOTE HERE” and arrow displays. The ballot receptacle’s front features an oversized likeness of the ’79 ballot, which listed only nine players for each position (the ballot didn’t feature each team’s representatives until 1989). This memory-evoking item is in amazing shape and includes its original assembly instruction sheet. Missing is the interior cardboard ballot tray.
