This Flatbush relic hails from the 1952 season in which the Brooklyn Dodgers were able to fend off the surging New York Giants down the stretch (unlike in the prior September). Issued at Ebbets field on Monday, September 15 for a contest against the Cincinnati Reds, this ticket granted its bearer a “Loge Seat” vantage point to watch the hosts launch five of their Senior Circuit-best 153 round-trippers. As they prevailed, 11-5 to maintain a three-game lead over their Harlem-based rivals, the Dodgers were powered by two home runs apiece from Jackie Robinson and Duke Snider, as well as an additional circuit clout by Gil Hodges. The ticket features printed seating and event details on the front and the facsimile signature of club president Walter O’Malley on the reverse. Vintage strips of transparent tape have been adhered to the vertical edges (likely for preservation purposes), yet the ticket still presents nicely with no paper loss.
