Given its design and long-time wearer, the offered game-worn jacket is “Dodger Blue” through and through. Specifically, this blue satin-like zippered garment was worn by Hall of Fame skipper Walt Alston during the middle portion of his lengthy tenure. Angled across the chest in white tackle twill, the script-style “Dodgers” name is accented by a lengthy paraph. Blue-and-white striped stretch knit lines the 4-1/4”-wide collar, sleeve endings and waistline. The jacket also features a wool lining and two front pockets. Within the collar, a vintage “W.A. Goodman & Sons” local manufacturer’s label is accompanied by a cloth hanger and a canvas strip tag with inscriptions of “55” and “Alston.” All original and unaltered, the item shows moderate to heavy wear.

Huggins and Scott is allowing the winning bidder 30 days from the date when payment is received to have the item independently authenticated. Payment must, however, be made within 5 days from the end of the auction. Huggins and Scott is not responsible for any authentication fees or shipping charges incurred by the winning bidder, but H&S will refund the hammer price and buyer’s premium if the item does not pass authentication with a reputable third party company.
