Add to your pre-war baseball library with this exceedingly scarce 1938 One Hundred Years of Baseball first edition book. The black cloth-bound ephemeron was published by the Tolson Company of St. Paul, Minnesota. The 213-page volume measures 8-1/2 x 11" and is penned by author Frank J. Salvus on the fly leaf. This chronological history of baseball from its purported inception to 1938 is packed with statistics, interesting anecdotes and player stories. Is divided into three sections 1.) "From the Foundation of the Game to the Creation of the National League (1839-1876)"; 2.) "From the Creation of the National League to the Creation of the American League (1876-1900" and 3.) "The Twentieth Century (1900-1938)." Although this reference displays moderate wear and soiling, the book still presents in excellent condition and has withstood the decades nicely.
