Plucked by the Cincinnati Reds in the opening round of the 2005 Amateur Draft, outfielder Jay Bruce proved a worthy selection, climbing the ranks to Rookie of the Year consideration and All-Star status eventually. Offered is a pair of shoes worn and signed by Bruce during the 2007 season while playing for any of three Reds minor league affiliates that season. These black leather/suede blend size “13-1/2” footwear items feature Nike “Swoosh” logos sewn to the outer sides and “Huarache 2K5” displayed on the tongue of each. On the outer side of the left shoe and on the instep of the right shoe, Bruce has signed in silver Sharpie (both “7” strength) and inscribed “2007 Game Used.” The shoes show moderate game wear with infield dirt stains throughout and dirt caked about some of the (9) metal cleats affixed to the bottom of each. Bruce made impressive progress in 2007, starting with the Class A Sarasota Reds and earning promotions to the Class AA Chattanooga Lookouts and Class AAA Louisville Bats. LOA from “Just Memorabilia.”
