With every last accolade (save for a World Series triumph) to his credit, Rod Carew wielded this Louisville Slugger (31.6-oz/33-1/2”) "C243" signature model bat during spring training play in the 1984-1985 labeling period. The uncracked white ash lumber shows heavy use with ball, stitch and ball stamping transfers about the barrel, as well as grain swelling on the hitting surface and a black marker notation of Carew’s number “29” on the knob. The bat shows exceptional player use characteristics. However, the ball stamping transfers are black, limiting the possibilities to Official National League balls. This pinpoints the bat’s use to Cactus League spring training games at National League sites.
